 The Aerodynamic Department combines the extensive experience of its scientific
and research staff (2 professors, 6 Ph.D. and 4 MSc. Engineers) to provide
expertise from the initial design phase, through CFD and experimental validation
in wind tunnels for aerodynamics, flight dynamics research for civil and military
aircraft and helicopter applications.
Almost all aircraft and helicopters in Poland have been tested in the Institute of Aviation wind tunnels. The department has access to five wind tunnels, including trisonic wind tunnel and the largest (5 m test cross section) low-speed wind tunnel in Poland, equipped with advanced instrumentation and calibration equipment.
Aerodynamic Laboratories are certified by PCA and meet the ISO standard PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005.
