VIBRATION TEST LABORATORY

Area of our activity

Tests of dynamic properties of complete mechanical structures and their components. Tests cover measurements of quantitative relations between dynamic loads (in a form of forces and moments) and corresponding accelerations, velocities displacements and deformations of objects.

What are we doing

  • Experimental determination of dynamic characteristics (frequencies and modes of resonance vibrations and generalised mass, stiffness and dumping) of tested structure,
  • Special designed in Institute of Aviation, time efficient codes enables carring out tests and immediate results processing in minimal time,
  • Ability of carrying out tests in a customer's place,
  • Many years experience which assures high credibility of measurements.

What can we do

  • Investigation of dynamic properties of complete structures or their fragments.
  • Range of measured quantities:
    • acceleration: 0.1 ÷ 5000 m/s2,
    • displacements: 0.05 ÷ 20 mm,
    • velocities: 0.01 ÷ 0.1 m/s,
    • relative deformations: 10 µm/m ÷ 15000 µm/m,
    • respectively in range of frequencies: 0,1 ÷ 15000 Hz.
  • The knowledge of dynamic characteristics is indispensable for verification of dynamic calculations and activity aimed at improvement of safety and crew comfort and reliability.     

Major equipment

  • Computer-controlled exciting-measuring system installed into the laboratory track:
    • 8 channels of vibration excitation in range 1 ÷ 2000 Hz,
    • electrodynamic vibration exciters with max. forces 50 N, 200 N, 2000 N, 8000 N,
    • 200 measuring channels for recording signals from piezoelectric accelerometers sensors (mass 2 - 7 g, measuring range up to 200 m/s2).
  • Computer-controlled, portable measuring system:
    • 64 measuring channels, max. sampling frequency 300 kHz,
    • acceleration sensors mass 5.4 g, measuring range up to 500 m/s2.

    • planes: "Skytruck", "Iskierka", "Iryda" (PZL Mielec), "Koliber 150A" (EADS PZL "Warszawa-Okecie"),
    • helicopter "Sokol" (PZL-Swidnik),
    • radar antennas IFF-12M, SMM-12, SAN-12 (PIT-Warszawa),
  • Dynamic tests of air conditioner suspension from "Polonez" car (DAEWOO-FSO).
  • Vibration resistance tests of devices BREN-R and CAR-1100 (PIT Gdansk).
