Our design meets the following performance requirements:
- fuel consumption is nearing fuel consumption of cars,
- range and cruising speed allowing to cover 1 400 km distance in shorter period of time than 6 hours,
- safety flight in moderate weather conditions,
- safety meeting amendment no 42 of FAR 23,
- comfort of travel,
- cost and operating costs available for medium business.
The basic version is provided with retractable landing gear, powered by Lycoming O-360 A1A (180 hp) engine and constant speed propeller and is equipped for flying in IFR conditions.
The project was realized in cooperation with PZL Swidnik S.A.
General outline
Above requirements for an aircraft results a wide range of investigations and solution of many design, material, aerodynamic and co-operation problems.
As a result of performed works the following solution was accepted:
- conventional well - experienced configuration, providing many possibilities of aircraft development,
- wings with high loading and advanced airfoils, small wetted and smooth surface of aircraft, streamline shape of fuselage and retractable landing gear allow to achieve lift-to-drag ratio higher than for the aircraft of the same class,
- the use of glass and carbon fibre composites and new technologies of production (high pressure, autoclaves preimpregnats) enabled to reduce the mass of the aircraft of 20%, to develop its aerodynamics, to give facilities for overhauling and to increase its durability (higher corrosion resistance),
- especially designed seats and fuselage structure comply with requirements concerning crash landing,
- design of structure for heaviest and fastest version (180 hp engine, 370 km/h max. diving speed, retractable landing gear) enables creating of many aircraft version on the same basic structure,
- the use of engine, propellers and equipment manufactured by best world firms gives wide operational performance and safe warranty,
- ergonomic properties of cockpit (dimensions, field of visibility, noise level, microclimate, aesthetics) ensure good travelling conditions.
