RESCUE & PATROL HOVERCRAFT PRP-560 "RANGER"

Hovercraft PRP-560 was designed mainly for rescue and patrol actions. It can move on land, on inland waters, swamps and almost everywhere where use of car or boat is impossible.
It can be also used as a tourist vehicle. The primary users are: police, fire departments, border guards, water rescue and flood service. The hovercraft is adapted to use the whole year, in all weather conditions. It is economical and easy in use vehicle, with low level of noise, high safety level for crew and passengers. It enables efficient rescue missions as well as fun.
PRP-560 is intended to transport 5 persons (including driver).

Hull

Hovercraft hull is closed box structure. Used design solution ensures floating in case of brake down of power unit or apron damage. Hull is made of modern material  flat composite plates, thanks to that it is light and cheap. Less important parts are made of PVC foam laminated single- or double-sided with layer of glass cloth.

Crew part

Hovercraft crew part is built up cabin, made of laminates, with panoramic windscreen and slide doors. Back seats are designed to put there injured person on stretcher. To facilitate land observation the hovercraft is equipped with sun roof and two searchlights of large power, so called rummagers. The proper position-lights ensure safe moving on water also at night, according to sailing rules. Additional equipment of the hovercraft are elements increasing passengers safety. These are anti-sliding mats, railings separating engine and crew sections, grids on both fans and exhausting unit.

Drive

Hovercraft power unit consists of Daewoo Nubira engine (130 hp, 2000 cm3, DOHC). Its power is transferred by remodelled car clutch and belt gear transmission to fans. There are two fans: axial - giving thrust and centrifugal - inflating apron. The engine was chosen considering economical conditions and availability of service.

Hovercraft steering

The steering is carried out with use of thrust fan, rudder and elevator. The axial fan is six-wing, the wings are made of poliamid materials reinforced with glass fibre. It is placed in cylindrical tunnel, where rudder and elevator. Centrifugal fan (inflating apron) is welded duralumin set. The apron is bag-type, one-chamber with high transverse and oblong stability level. It is made of boat cloth with increased tear and grind strength. Vehicle steering is carried out with use of rudder and elevator. Rudder is controlled with steering wheel while elevator with lever. Engine rotational speed is controlled with acceleration pedal.
