Library will be closed from 02.01.2007 until further notice, due to modernization.
Scientific Library of Institute of Aviation, according to size and subject of its files, can be recognized as central aviation library in Poland.
Its collection of books, which is approximately 73 500 volumes with periodicals collected during years counted in, puts our library among the top libraries of R&D facilities in Poland.
The essential subjects of books in our library are:
aviation, aircraft, helicopters, thermo- and gasdynamics, mechanics, endurance of materials, aviation engines, aviation equipment, computers and history of aviation.
There are following catalogs in our library:
- alphabetic catalog of books,
- alphabetic catalog of periodicals,
- systematic catalog of books according to its subjects.
We have subscription of Polish and foreign books and periodicals. Our collection for today is as follows:

Polish and foreign periodicals...........53 titles
In our library you can find many foreign and native scientific periodicals, for example: Aerospace Science and Technology, Canadian Aeronautics & Space Journal, Avionics, Journal of Aircraft, Journal of Composite Materials, Motortechnische Zeitschrift MZT, Aeronautical Journal, Aircraft Engineering, Aviastroenie.
Our library subscribes monthly, weekly and daily magazines such as: Flight, Aviation Week, Letectvi, Skrzydlata Polska, Przeglad Techniczny, Polska Zbrojna, Polityka, Rzeczpospolita, Zycie Warszawy, Gazeta Wyborcza.
Hours of opening:
Monday - Friday: 9:00 - 14:00
Accessibility of materials
Books and magazines can be read in the reading room (for 12 people) or borrowed. The encyclopedias, dictionaries, manuals, news presentation are available too. There are also catalogs and card-indexes here. Our library can also lend books and magazines to other libraries, and send copies of articles from magazines.
