The Propulsion Department is an integral part of the Institute of Aviation, performing research and development in the following areas:

  • reciprocating engines (primarily diesel),
  • jet engine test beds,
  • turbines and compressors,
  • aircraft noise (in accordance with FAR 36 and ICAO 16),
  • aerodynamic flows.
