  AUTONOMOUS TRANSPORTABLE INERT GAS GENERATOR

The surveillance system consists of helium filled tethered aerostat (blimp), deployed in the workplace, it's airborne equipment including controlled camera platform, and ground work - stand for the crew. This work-stand provides the operators of the system with efficient tools for night and day observation, data processing, and transmitting them to appropriate centers. Folded system can be transported by roads with no necessity of any special regulations.

Application of the Generator

The main application of IGG is fighting with fire hazards and extinguish fires in closed spaces like:

  • interiors of hulls,
  • excavations,
  • underground tunnels,
  • warehouses or underground garages, etc.

It is also possible fire fighting on the open area in places where it is possible to confine a space with specially prepared, portable equipment.
There is a possibility to use a jet of inert gas to transport fire foam produced by a foam generator. In this configuration fire extinguishing agent, which is a foam with inert gas, can be transported at long distances in a pipe dia. 250 mm to hardly accessible spaces.
The generator can be also used to defrosting loose deposits, railway-tracks, runways or eliminate snow-drifts as by diminishing flow rate of cooling water in a cooling chamber it is possible to produce inert gas with temperature even 800oC and higher, if required.

The generator consists of two modules. Both modules have own tricycle undercarriage for their transportation. The first module consists of gas turbine core with fuel system, control and regulation desk, a diffuser with "cold" part of an afterburner and fuel supply system. The second module consists of afterburner combustion chamber, cooling chamber and water system for cooling the afterburner and combustion gas. A kerosene is burned in the afterburner with a rate assuring temperature approx. 190oC which causes reduction of the oxygen in a gas supplied from the core to the afterburner. Water system assures filtering and pressure stabilisation of water for cooling afterburner combustion chamber. This water flows through the water jacket and next is injected directly to combustion gas passing through afterburner chamber and cooling chamber. Radial air inlet of the core is equipped with dead dust separator.
