On 14th and 15th of January, the 3rd Conference "Fatigue Of Aircraft Structures" took place at the Institute of Aviation. The subject of this conference was: integration of industrial, academic and research centers involved in aircraft structural fatigue issues, presentation of research currently being conducted in Poland related to aircraft structural fatigue. |

Christmas Eve for Institute of Aviation Employees |
|
On December 21st, 2009 a solemn Christmas Eve for employees was held in the Institute of Aviation. The meeting was opened by Witold Wiśniowski, Director of the Institute of Aviation who thanked all staff of the Institute for their contribution to the development of the facility and for their professional accomplishments during 2009. The meeting ended with traditional Christmas refreshments, accompanied by a string quartet from the National Philharmonic. |

Polish - American Conference on Science and Technology |

 On 3-4 December, 2009, in Washington, DC, the 10th Polish - American Conference on Science and Technology was held. This was a jubilee meeting of scientists, entrepreneurs and government representatives of Poland and the USA. The conference was organized by: the Institute of Aviation of Warsaw, the USA National Academy of Sciences, the Polish Academy of Sciences, and the foundation Activity for Innovation and Economic Growth.

Journal of Polish-American Science and Technology |
 Scientific Publications of Institute of Aviation was published the first number of “Journal of Polish-American Science and Technology”. The publication presents the proceeding of the 9th Polish - American Conference on Science and Technology. The papers deal with issues of entrepreneurship, opportunities and challenges posed by The US-Poland cooperation, as well as issues connected with energy and environmental protection. The contents are organised by subject for the convenience of the reader. |

Institute of Aviation support the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity |
|
The Institute of Aviation participated in this year’s Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity. On January 14th, 2010 on Zalew Zagrzyński, near Warsaw, the winners of a charity auction enjoyed a flight in an Institute hovercraft together with the designer. All proceeds of the auction were donated to the foundation. A technical team from the Institute and the lucky winners were greeted by beautiful sunshine and biting frost. |

On December 9th, 2009, a meeting with journalists took place at the Hotel Bristol in Warsaw; the topic of which was transatlantic cooperation in the area of science and research relevant to industry. This meeting also summarized the 10th Polish-American Conference on Science and Technology, which was held from December 3rd-4th, 2009 in Washington. The meeting was attended by: Elżbieta Orłowska, Secretary of State in the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Michał Kleiber, President of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Marek Wejtko, Prime Minister’s Counselor for Nuclear Energy and George Osypowicz, President of the Foundation for the Exchange of Innovation in Science and Technology. |

Ambassador of People’s Republic of China visited Institute of Aviation |
 On 3 September the Institute of Aviation hosted delegation from People’s Republic of China embassy with Ambassador Mr. Sun Rongmin. During the visit, representatives of Institute presented laboratories research potential and detailed research offer. After the official meeting, delegation visited laboratories and aerodynamic tunnels. |

100th birthday anniversary of Tadeusz Sołtyk |
 On 9 - 10 September, the Institute of Aviation were organized commemorations 100th birthday anniversary of Professor Tadeusz Sołtyk. Professor Tadeusz Sołtyk was one of the famous polish constructor of airplanes. He designed such airplanes like TS-Bies, TS-Iskra or TS-Grot. |
