New Material Research Laboratory |
|
On 5 May 2009 the formal opening of a new Material Research Laboratory of the Institute of Aviation took place. Owing to the dynamic development of the material research teams of the Engineering Design Center (EDC) of the Institute of Aviation, the laboratory has been moved to the newly refurbished building L.
The laboratory started operating in 2005 in its previous location in the building CD, where it employed three engineers. Initially, work was focused on metallographic testing in the aviation industry and gradually expanded to embrace other areas. Currently, the laboratory employs 19 material engineers, 9 of whom being PhD qualified. Research equipment and facilities have recently undergone substantial modernization and today the lab is one of the best equipped in Poland.
Director of the Institute of Aviation Witold Wiśniowski, PhD in engineering, formally opened the lab in front of a group of invited guests.
